Library Lovers Month Sunday, February 5 at 7am
Sunday Baroque

It may be the shortest month on the calendar – even in Leap Year – but February is not short on special occasions. In addition to the better-known holidays, this is also International Friendship Month, and Library Lovers’ Month. This morning, we’ll celebrate those worthy occasions with musical friendships, and music by composers who wrote some of the books you’ll find in the library.

Andris Nelsons conducts Toru Takemitsu’s Requiem, performed in memory of the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan last March. The program also includes Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov and, with soloist Jonathan Biss, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto #2.
