Chris also interviews the executive director of the Afro American Music Institute which will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year.

In October of 2010, Jeron Grayson, a freshman at Hampton University, was fatally shot while attending an off-campus party at California University. The aftermath of the tragedy of the death of yet another innocent bystander is examined through interviews with his parents -- Reverend Glenn and Marsha Grayson -- and siblings. Intimate conversations reveal their struggle to regain normalcy and their commitment to making their community a better place.

The Rebirth of the Irene Kaufmann Settlement House

After a six million dollar face lift the Irene Kaufmann Settlement House is ready to return to it's historical mission of providing aid and comfort to the residents of Pittsburgh's Hill District. Built in 1926 it first served Pittsburgh's Jewish community, but the neighborhood's demographics continue to change and the Kaufmann Center's mission to help nearby residents has remained the same. Now completely refurbished the Kaufmann Center continues a legacy of service and WQED's Horizons tells the story of a proud past and a bright future.
